We’ve made it through another week of quarantine and another live-stream service at Grace!
If you missed yesterday’s message, you can watch it on YouTube or on the church’s Facebook page. Here’s the YouTube version: Ramping Up to the New Normal – Love It or Leave It. Please leave a comment about the service on the YouTube page!
We are getting closer to a possible date for re-opening for services at the building. June 7 is our target. At this point, here are the plans for keeping us safe:
-
We will maintain a distance of six feet apart.
-
We will have all doors open so touch will not be necessary (except bathrooms and depending on the weather – if it snows, all bets are off!)
-
We will not shake hands, hug, etc.
-
When seated, we will only sit in a row with family members with whom we share a home.
-
Seats will be staggered so that we sit no closer than 10 feet from the person in front of us.
-
We will encourage wearing masks.
-
We will have hand sanitizer available at several locations in the building.
-
We will have a team of people assigned to clean the restrooms and door hardware several times before, during, and after the service. (Looking for someone to head up this team!)
-
We will discontinue our “meet and greet” time.
-
We will not serve food or drink.
-
We will not distribute bulletins.
-
There will be no Nursery or Kids Church, and children will need to be with their parents at all times.
-
We will ask those who are most vulnerable to stay home.
-
We will provide some form of online alternative to the service for those who cannot be there in person.
-
We will exit the building row by row with appropriate distancing.
-
We are still considering what we will do with singing. Some of this decision will involve the Grace Band.
I know we are all chomping at the bit to get back together! But we want to do so in a way that will provide safety and confidence for everyone. Please be praying as we make these decisions, and feel free to give your input.
